Indira

Celeste Monje, AKA Indira, is a dancer and instructor of ethnic dances like Middle Eastern, North African, Central Asian and Turkish as well as the popular Bellydance. She graduated from “Samai Institute” in 2009 as well as Amir Thaleb’s “Arabian Dance School of Buenos Aires” in 2011.

She is currently part of the research group “Anar Dana” created by the renowned anthropologist Helene Eriksen who dedicated her life to ethnic dance education all over the world.

Indira also worked and studied with several other renowned professionals in ethnic dances from several countries such as Sharon Kijara, Miriam Peretz, Miniq Neith, Mahmoud Reda, Wael Mansour, Randa Kamel, Raqia, among others.

Celeste is also the director of the Arab Dances Shakti Academy in Bahia Blanca, Argentina. She is also the director of the Ruh Shakti Ballet which is a dance group that develops a repertoire from Modern Dances to the most distinguished antique Persian and Ottoman ones. Ruh Shakti Ballet received a lot of recognition due to their outstanding choreographic performances in several events all over the region.

Indira is also a member of musical projects such as Mare Nostrum (music and dances from the Mediterranean), Hilal Haidi (Arab, Turkish and African music) for which they have toured the region of South America in several occasions with very good reception.

Celeste Monje has more than 110 seminars under her belt, she was part of the judges in several competitions and she is also requested to evaluate students’ exams of different dancing schools.

Her shows are a perfect mixture of performance and dance. She tells stories through dancing, such as “Medusa”, “Déjà Vu, The Musical”, “Cleopatra”, among others. Not only outstanding choreography, but also exclusive wardrobe and scripts for each act make her shows a unique experience.
